Current focus
I’m preparing my first YouTube films, beginning with the Hera event we held in Presicce-Acquarica on 26 September and the AI companion I built with the wider project team. What stayed with me was the help people offered, Ian Carnelli’s heartfelt message, and how independently the children worked together once the activities began.
I’m also getting ready to ride again after two years away from cycling, exploring Salento through gravel and road routes. With friends, I’m thinking about evenings that bring astronomy, music and people together. Those gatherings are still ideas we need to shape and organise.
The wider question
I grew up believing the life I wanted was somewhere else. Now I want to build a base here that supports ambition, creative work, friendships and an international life, including time abroad.
Salento is celebrated for holidays, but people also live, work and build their futures here throughout the year. I want to help create more reasons to stay, return and reconnect, with local language and character shaping a contemporary life. I’m sharing the attempt in English for people from other small towns and isolated places who recognise the same question.
What can we create in the places we come from that makes the life we want more possible?
From the archive
Hera Companion records the project behind the event. About explains the wider direction. The channel and new films are still in preparation; I’ll add their links when they exist.
